Ed’s Workshop
Ed’s Workshop is a community of makers in Sheffield City Centre with embedded support enabling makers with additional needs to make and sell craft items.
Ed’s Workshop was founded and is run by Ed and his family. Ed left Freeman College having developed high quality craft skills. He knew that he wanted employment as a craftsperson in a workshop but required additional support in the workplace to make this happen. Ed and his family recognised that his situation was not unique and established Ed’s Workshop. At Ed’s Workshop we believe self-employment is an achievable goal for craftspeople with additional needs and we support our makers on their journey to develop their own micro-businesses.
We are based in Sheffield City Centre and offer sessions for makers to use our workshop to make craft products in a supervised environment. Our makers come for a fixed number of sessions per week on a long-term basis. Our current makers produce woodwork, pewter, jewellery, textiles, pyrography, CNC products and more.
